I fell in love with Nicaragua in the summer of 2005 and bought a small house from a friendly man named Francisco and his wife Maria. I loved the rich history, stunning nature, awesome surfing in the warm ocean, and especially the amazing view of the famous Nicaraguan sunsets from Francisco's house. At the time they needed money to help their kids who were very sick and in need of medical attention. I used a lot of my money I had saved for the expedition of Peace Pedalers to buy and fix up the place and decided to make it a rental property to generate funds for various charity projects I'll help start on the ride. I've been able to use rental income to make donations in Africa and South America with more to come!

The 2nd Story Rancho Offers Daily Sunsets from a Hammock or Bar
The Kitchen and Dining area are modern yet rustic with great views
Swing, cook, eat, drink, dance, party and chill overlooking the bay!

Rather than tear the existing house down, which has 60+ years of history of four families living there with their children, I decided to remodel and modernize it with my friends Will's construction company. We put our hearts and soul into the remodel to make it thier the ONLY cultural guesthouse in the historical and culture-rich barrio of La Planta, just a short 5 minute walk to the ocean and down town San Juan del Sur.

The Master Bedroom has two ocean view windows, ceiling fan, clothing Armoire and sun room reading area!
The bathroom is fun, funky and modern with warm water shower
The 2nd guest bedroom and office also has an ocean view from bed!

There is secure parking in front of your friendly neighbor's house so your car is in good hands if you decide to rent one. However, it's really not necessary to have a car as you can walk everywhere or take a taxi from town easily. There is also secure locked storage of all valuables in a large bodega or in a cabinet in the house. We suggest you keep all valuables locked up, whether you stay with us or any other lodging establishment. Central America is not any more dangerous than North America but petty crime is part of the culture, like it or not.

The dining room has sweeping bay views
The secure bodega has storage for your surfboards and valuables
The locals are very friendly and we encourage you to make new friends!
