Our Mission:

To use bikes as a vehicle to create more peace in our world through cultural awareness, exchange & education.

What We Do:

Peace Pedalers is a "Worldwide Invitation to Ride". That means YOU are invited! We are taking two-seat tandem bikes on an around-the-world adventure through about 85 countries. But we're doing it a bit differently--We ride on the front seats and leave the rear seats open to invite people we meet along the way to join the ride. And what an amazing journey it's been so far!

We invite total strangers and new friends to share a slice of life and experience the bonding magic of cycling with us as a gesture of peace, trust, acceptance, openness and unconditional love. If they need some financial assistance we usually offer to pay their food, accommodation and bus ticket back to their home town for extended tandem adventures. Each day is a mystery--who we will ride with, where we will eat and sleep, and what we will learn about these exciting new cultures.

In partnership with Panasonic, are documenting the expedition with professional video, audio and photography equipment to bring the cultures, friendships and magic of Peace Pedalers to millions around the world via various television series and films. See vision of production here

Our Vision: We have a vision that through cultural understanding we can reduce unnecessary fear to help foster global collaboration and world peace. Full Peace Pedalers Vision Statement Here.

Be the Change: "You must BE the change you want to see in the world"
--Mahatma Gandhi

This quotation is the core of our expedition. The changes we want to see are more random acts of kindness, love, openness, acceptance, trust, sharing, play and a willingness to learn from one another in the world. So that's what Peace Pedalers BE.

It's every individual's responsibility to become a catalyst for world peace. It all starts with YOU. Whether you are at work, at home with the family, following your passion or out riding around the world; each moment is an opportunity to send peaceful and loving intentions & energy to the world, your family and your local and global community.

Peace Pedalers is NOT a formal 501(c)(3) non-profit, but we are able to accept tax-deductible donations via our fiscal sponsor International Bicycle Fund. We use donations to fund grass roots relief projects we encounter on the expedition via the Peace Pedalers Relief Fund.

After almost 11 months away from my home turf here in California I'm FINALLY back to visit my friends and family! The epic 26 country tour of Europe will forever occupy a special place in my heart and I'll never forget all the wonderful people, places and experiences. I'm just as grateful to be home and connecting with my brother Nick, mom and soon all my other family and friends for the holiday season before heading to Brazil early 2009 to start the final stage. Read the blog for the latest quick stories or check out detailed journals of past adventures. Also updated route for schedule & plans to come play!

07/15/08: Peace Pedalers guest riders Launching a School in Uganda: Warren and Innocent, two guest riders in Uganda, have teamed up to launch the "Good Hope School" which will educate the needy, board orphans and more. They already have buildings done and over 50 students. We're finalizing our materials to raise the funds for completion. For more information on getting involved email us.

01/12/08: Peace Pedalers Trailer and Rough Cut Videos Done! After dozens of hours in front of the computer we finally finished a 4 minute trailer and two 22-minute rough cuts of Niger and Mali in West Africa. Check them out here!

8/26/07: New "Best of 30 Countries" photo album now up: I sorted through 1,000's to bring you the best of the best! Check it out!

06/18/07 Educating Africa, One Rider at a Time! We have started a small "Peace Pedalers Scholarship Program" and we are sending our first guest rider, Joseph Kamau of Kenya, back to school after his father lost his job and failed to pay school fees. Contact us if you want to help fund this small project and give the gift of education to those in need.

03/27/07 We Saved Two Infants Lives!! I was out riding to Chipata in Eastern Zambia and stopped at a medical clinic where a friend was volunteering. Two babies were burning up with fevers from Malaria the clinic was out of medication. They were given Coartem from my bike pannier and there is no better feeling than saving a life!

02/22/07 Sustainable Revenue to Musicians and Their Communities! I've been working with musicians and recording live performances for them to provide them with a CD to sell at gigs and other channels. They have to give 10% to local charities so it's a triple win. To provide an avenue for artists to sell the recordings online I will soon be launching a small record label. Check some sample tunes here. Stay tuned and email me if you have any feedback or contacts

8/24/06, Les Stroud Joins as Executive Producer for Filming Effort: Survivorman producer and host Les will be guiding the filming of the rest of the expedition to create several seasons of educational television and a documentary film. Info on Les here:
